Can I book for today?

Often, yes. We run a same-day cleaning service across NYC. Book early in the day for the best shot.

Booking & Pricing

The money questions, answered plainly — because nobody likes surprises on an invoice.

How do I book a cleaning?

Two ways. Use our online booking page — it's open 24/7 and takes about 60 seconds — or call us at +1 (212) 812-9420 between 8 AM and 8 PM ET, any day of the week. You'll pick your service, date, and time window, and get a confirmation right away.

How is pricing calculated?

By apartment size and service type. A standard clean on a studio costs less than a deep clean on a three-bedroom — that's the whole formula. Check the pricing page for details, and if you're curious what NYC cleanings run in general, we wrote up a full breakdown in our apartment cleaning costs guide.

Can I buy a cleaning for someone else?

You can. Gift cards work for any service — popular with new parents, new neighbors, and anyone who's ever seen a friend's move-out week.

What's Included

What's Included in a Cleaning

Every service has a defined scope, so you know exactly what you're paying for before anyone rings your buzzer.

What does a standard cleaning cover?

Every room gets dusted, vacuumed, and mopped. Kitchens: counters, sink, stovetop, exterior of appliances. Bathrooms: toilet, tub, shower, sink, mirrors. Beds made, trash out, surfaces wiped. It's the full rundown on our standard house cleaning page.

What's the difference between standard and deep cleaning?

Deep cleaning adds the stuff that builds up slowly — baseboards, inside window sills, behind furniture we can move, scale and soap scum removal, detailed grout attention. If it's been more than a couple months since a professional clean, start with a deep cleaning. We compared the two honestly in this post.

Do you bring supplies and equipment?

Yes, all of it — vacuums, mops, cloths, solutions. You don't need to provide a thing. If you'd rather we use your products, just leave them out and note it in your booking.

Trust & Safety

Trust, Safety & Our Cleaners

Letting someone into your home is the whole ballgame. Here's who we send and how we vet them.

Who actually shows up at my door?

A background-checked, trained professional from our own team — we don't subcontract to strangers. Meet them on our cleaners page. Many have been with us for years, and if you book recurring, we'll send the same cleaner whenever possible.

Are you insured and bonded?

Fully. Every cleaner and every job is covered — details on our insured & bonded page. In the unlikely event something's damaged, you're protected. It's the first thing we'd check before hiring a cleaning company, and we wrote a guide on how to vet a maid service in NYC that says as much.

How are cleaners vetted?

Background check, in-person interview, hands-on training, and supervised first cleanings before anyone works solo. We've been doing this for 15 years — our hiring process is why our reviews look the way they do.

Is my building's COI requirement a problem?

No — plenty of Manhattan and Brooklyn buildings require a Certificate of Insurance before service. Contact us with your building management's details and we'll handle the paperwork.

What actually happens between booking and a spotless apartment.

Weekly apartment cleaning in progress in Battery Park City, Manhattan NYCCleaner arriving with supplies for a weekly apartment cleaning in Battery Park City, Manhattan

Do I need to be home during the cleaning?

No — most clients aren't. Leave a key with your doorman, use a lockbox, or meet the cleaner to let them in. Whatever your building allows, we've done it before.

How long does a cleaning take?

A studio standard clean usually runs 1.5–2.5 hours; larger apartments and deep cleans take longer. Your confirmation includes a time estimate based on what you booked. Studio dweller? Our NYC studio cleaning guide is worth a read.

Should I do anything before the cleaner arrives?

A quick pickup of clothes and personal items helps us spend your time on actual cleaning instead of tidying. That's it. (If organizing IS what you need, we do home organization too.)

What about pets during the clean?

Friendly pets can roam free — our cleaners love them. Anxious ones do better in a closed room, and just leave a note in your booking so the cleaner knows who they're meeting.

What if I'm not happy with the cleaning?

Tell us — we'll make it right. Our satisfaction guarantee means if something was missed, we come back and fix it. No arguing, no forms in triplicate.

How do I reschedule or cancel?

Through your booking confirmation, by calling +1 (212) 812-9420, or via the contact page. The earlier you let us know, the better — same-day changes are harder to accommodate but we'll always try.

How do I pay, and when?

Securely online when you book. No cash needed at the door, though cleaners always appreciate tips (and keep 100% of them).

Should I tip my cleaner?

Never required, always appreciated. 15–20% is common in NYC. Cash or through the booking system — either way, all of it goes to your cleaner.

How often should I schedule cleanings?

For most NYC apartments: bi-weekly keeps things genuinely clean, weekly if you've got kids, pets, or heavy dust exposure. We dug into it here: how often should you deep clean your apartment.
